Life beyond labels

An invitation to step out of the known,
of everything which is safe and comfortable.

Are you feeling tired of the felt limitations?
Always the same habitual responses coming up.?
Life seems too predictable?
Boring even?
Life dissected and compartmentalized into
palatable proportions.
Always same old same old?

The known projects itself forward into sizable chunks.
Labels everything which comes in.
Has opinions and judgments about all information.
And does not question these assumptions.

Is there not secretly somewhere
a longing to step out of this mold?

Where is the miraculous?
Where is the open space?
The freedom?

How strange that we are never taught to
turn our attention to the direct contact.
Where our attention meets the smell, the taste, the touch, the sounds.
We are only ever taught to notice the labels, the ideas about it:

Its green,  its grass, its food for the cows,
Its white,  its cold,  its snow,  you can make balls and
throw with it.
Its red,  its a rose,  it has thorns,  this is the smell of a rose.
etc.

Soon we live in a world of ideas,   a paper thin construct.
Whatever we encounter kicks in all the ideas we have learned about it.
Only touching this artificial structure, where everything is known.

Rarely perceiving without it,
we bypass the bare aliveness.
Life without ideas.
The Unknown.

Everything we have learned we have learned in relationship to the
identity we have been taught is a me.
The world and a me come into being simultaneously.
This is me and that is not me.
The me is separate from other things.
The me is a person,  with a name, a gender, a character,  a mother,  family,  location.  etc.

Life beyond labels is a life without this identity.
It is the direct cognition with what at exactly this moment is appearing.
I mean now.

NOW.

Without ideas,
with direct perception
there is no person operating.
As soon as the idea of the person comes up,
all the ideas are coming up as well.
Drop the idea of the person.
Direct perceiving is here
where it always is.

Never went anywhere.

See through this construct of a me and find
that what you have been always looking for
is already where and what you are.

Here and Now.

What a relief

One huge benefit after recognizing that this perspective
is who you are, is the dropping away of the sense of lack.
One is home.

This means that the idea that something is wrong is gone.
The drive to improve this imperfect person,
chasing after a perfection always out of reach
falls away.
.
Wow....   what a relief

In spite of what your parents told you

If you hear the message for the first time:

You are not the person you believe yourself to be

it seems just words,  strange,  maybe too abstract.

And yet if you investigate a little,
you will find out that it is true.
In spite of what your parents, society,
everyone around you
seems to have instilled in you.:
You are not a person.

You are a perceiving capacity.

And this is your experience if you investigate,
if you actually want to find out if this is true.

Go to your actual experience,  right now.
Not to the mind,  not to the reasoning.

Perceiving is on going at all times.
Sights,  smells,  tastes, sounds,
sensations, thoughts and feelings.

Information coming into this Space at all times
This aware space.
Even the perception of a person,  this body mind
is noticed.

By whom?

It sees,
but can itself not be seen.
It notices everything
but is itself invisible.

It is identification with being a person which makes
one feel limited and separate.

As soon as the identification drops
( through simply investigating your own experience )
and one knows oneself to be a perceiving capacity,
one becomes aware that one is and always have been
this limitless aware Something
in which all takes place.

If you are interested..
find out.

Early morning sunlight
dancing through the windows

a dripping tap

crows, pigeons,

tree pies and peacocks

a coppersmith
bird singing all around

the stone floor cool
beneath the feet.

the blinking lights of the modem

some stumbling sounds from
the neighbors house

signs of appetite
and a thought of coffee and breakfast appearing.

Noticing,  perceiving
ongoing at all times
by no one in particular.

It is just seeing things as they are

Are you serious?

Are you serious?
Do you want to know the truth more
than anything?

Provided the need to know the truth is paramount,
and its not just to feel good that you are on the path,
you might want to look at this seeking conundrum
in another way:

Why is This,
this perspective,
what we are, so difficult to see?
Why is it that we are willing to spend hours,
days, weeks,  months and years
trying to fathom what is pointed at?

Going on retreats,  to satsangs,  reading books
and immerse ourselves on the internet.
Spending 1000 of dollars,
euros,  rupees in the process.
Never reaching.

( Of course it could not have been otherwise.
Its Oneness playing the game of a separate person
seeking for Itself,  and even wanting to feel good
is only Oneness playing the game.  There is never
anything outside of This.  No separate person exists )

While all the while you are It already.

This paradox is the most perplexing once It is seen.

You want an answer?
What do you think?
What is the problem here?
Where do you go off the rails?
Any idea,
any inkling?

It is like the zen koan of Alan Watts:

Trying to understand God
is like trying to fall in love with a kilometer.

You are using the wrong instrument,
tool to apprehend
what is pointed at.

The mind will never get this.

So where does this leave you?

Well?

Any idea?

Don't answer..
