A siren song

What is it in us that has an interest in this message?
This incomprehensible message 
that we are not a person.

Going against everything we have been taught.

Someone telling us 
that we are Free already,
that our natural state is 
this limitless cognizing presence.
It does not make sense.

Why would we at all want to hear this,
and what makes us come back again and again?.

This irresistible story,  
at times beckoning us
at others haunting us 
like a siren song.

The person we believe ourselves to be 
is not interested in this message.
Will revolt and find ways to undermine 
the understanding and assimilation
of these words.

Attack the one delivering this message for instance, 
and all the ways of avoiding 
like boredom, dullness, projections.

Or the mind coming in with endless questions.

And still we find ourselves 
coming back again and again
through internet sites,  books,  satsangs.

We have no choice as something larger 
than this limited person is operating.

It is Oneness itself which is the 
one attracted to hear about Itself
It is the love story of 
the lover looking for the Beloveth.

It is not rational,  it is not personal. 
It is Oneness wanting to recognize itself 
through the body mind
you call yourself.

And longs to obliterate
all that stand in the way
and finally rests
as Itself.   

So what ever brought you here 
will take it further.
Till there is nothing left 
of the belief you call yourself
but this Changeless Something,
which is already now
what you are.

No choice..
